Why Work At LEF?

At LEF, each of our centres create a unique atmosphere in which you will work as part of a team of educators, supported by experienced supervisors.  We encourage our educators (many of whom have been with us for 10+ years!) to build their professional foundation around LEF's core beliefs of  Mindfulness, Values, Trusted Partnerships and Innovation.  All of these components are evident in the educators' impact on children and families in the individual centres.

Primary responsibility for this role is to support kindergarten and school-aged children in the hours before and after school as part of a team of Educators and room partners with the support of Supervisors. You will start morning instructional classes, and navigate food delivery to ensure the children we support are nourished and ready to learn. From the time school is dismissed to 6pm you will engage the children in indoor and outdoor play, help build resilience and facilitate snack time until each child is picked up.

Staff ratios:

  • 2 staff and up to 26 children for kindergarten groups

  • Good understanding and application of Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years: How Does Learning Happen?
  • Ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with children, parents and staff
  • Ability to use tact, discretion and good judgement to solve problems and resolve conflict
  • Ability to create a comprehensive program as an equal with the teachers and external partners such as TDSB and TCDSB
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
