Requirements

In addition to the education, experience, and licensing requirements listed at the end of this posting, we are looking for RECEs with: 

  • Successful completion of a Community College Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education 
  • Experience supporting families and promoting the value of play-based learning 
  • Experience working with children with special needs 
  • Thorough understanding of The Child Care Early Years Act (2014) 
  • Sound ability to apply the Early Learning for Every Child Today (ELECT, 2007) framework towards quality programming 
  • Knowledge of Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI) 
  • Good understanding and application of Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years: How Does Learning Happen? (2014) 
  • Ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with children, parents and staff 
  • Ability to use tact, discretion and good judgement to solve problems and resolve conflict 
  • Ability to create a comprehensive program as an equal with the teachers and external partners such as TDSB and TCDSB 
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team 
  • Excellent written communication skills
