Requirements
In addition to the education, experience, and licensing requirements listed at the end of this posting, we are looking for RECEs with:
- Successful completion of a Community College Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education
- Experience supporting families and promoting the value of play-based learning
- Experience working with children with special needs
- Thorough understanding of The Child Care Early Years Act (2014)
- Sound ability to apply the Early Learning for Every Child Today (ELECT, 2007) framework towards quality programming
- Knowledge of Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI)
- Good understanding and application of Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years: How Does Learning Happen? (2014)
- Ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with children, parents and staff
- Ability to use tact, discretion and good judgement to solve problems and resolve conflict
- Ability to create a comprehensive program as an equal with the teachers and external partners such as TDSB and TCDSB
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Excellent written communication skills
